Brick on campus

As college and university students across North America complete their spring semesters online due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and resuming in-person classes in the fall remains in question, many are wondering how the role of college campuses in higher education will change for the long term.

That question seems unanswerable at this point, but what isn’t in doubt is the role campuses have long played in bringing an appreciation for architecture to the masses. College and university campuses represent a concentration of thoughtful, innovative designs that would not otherwise exist in the often smallish communities that are their homes. College towns are indeed lucky to have the work of so many creative architects and designers on display for the public.
